Wobble Pin Joints for teddy bears 21mm – 35mm
Wobble pin joints for teddy bears (and other creations!) enable them to have a moving, wobbly head giving them well-loved, cute look . Wobble joints, are used in a very similar way to traditional, T-Head cotter pins but the wobble pin has a looped cotter pin (unlike the traditional T-Head pins) to give your toy a floppy, wobbly head look and are often used in “distressed” bears. These pins, whilst looking loose in your creation, are very secure and are a great way to practice your cotter pin bending skills (crown or snail), since the tightness of the cotter pin to its disk isn’t nearly as critical.
Our wobble pin joint sets contain British hardboard disks, washers and British, loop-head cotter pins which are great for repairing vintage bears and making artist bears.
Most creations only use a wobble joint for the head and will only need 1 wobble joint (as the arm and leg joints would be jointed using standard cotter pins). Our wobble pin joints are available in the following pack sizes:
- 1 Joint (2 cotter pins, 4 washers and 2 disks)
- 5 joints (10 cotter pins, 20 washers and 10 disks)
Depending on the size of your creation, our wobble pin joints are available in different sizes. The bigger the creation, the bigger the disk you will need. They come in the following sizes:
- 21mm
- 25mm
- 30mm
- 35mm
The wobble pin joint size relates to the diameter of the disk (eg a 21mm cotter pin measures 21mm across the width of the disk). Depending on the size of the disk, the length of the pins are selected to be a suitable match.
We also stock smaller disks and they have been made from fibre board which is thinner to be less bulky in smaller bears. These can also be found on our website.
