Funky Friends Socks the Sitting Keepsake Memory Cat Sewing Pattern

Funky Friends Socks the Sitting Cat is a playful kitty with adorable ‘sock’ seams on the feet to replicate Siamese or tuxedo cat markings! Or you could vary the colours to create a calico cat, or even leave him one solid colour for a classic coloured cat! He also has an optional coloured tail tip that can be included or simply left blank. He is an unjointed, sitting toy that would be perfect for playtime or as a keepsake toy. Socks can be sewn with most fabrics including quilting cottons and stretch fabrics like fleece or minky – those would be nice and snuggly! The collar piece is included in the pattern too!

The full size paper pattern comes with an instruction booklet. In addition to this, Funky Friends also have tutorial videos to help guide you through your toy making journey.

Materials you will need to make Funky Friends Socks the Keepsake Cat:-

• Main Fabric – 30cm x 110cm wide (12inches x 43inches wide)
• Contrast Fabric – 25cm x 55cm wide (10inches x 21½inches wide)
• Ear Fabric – 10cm x 15xm wide (4inches x 6inches wide)
• Felt for Nose – 2½cm x 3½cm wide (1inches x 1¾inches wide)
• 12mm (½ inch) black safety eyes
• ½ inch ribbon for Collar- 30cm (12inches) long
• Embroidery Thread for sewing mouth & toes
• Toy Stuffing
• Sewing thread
• Iron-on light/medium weight interfacing (this is needed only if you are using thin or very stretchy fabrics or, if you are using a mix of different types of fabrics)

Equipment you will need:-

• A sewing needle & pins
• Fabric scissors with a fine tip
• Paper scissors
• Fine tipped fabric pen or a pencil
• Craft Glue & firm card for the templates (cereal boxes are fine!)
• A stuffing tool, haemostats or a chopstick!
