Mr Bramble Rabbit Sewing Pattern by Brenda Walker

Sew a sweet toy rabbit with the Mr Bramble pattern, from the Country Folk range.  Mr Bramble, makes an adorable toy rabbit complete with trousers, shirt, bow tie and jacket.  Created by the talented Brenda Walker, Mr Bramble stands approximately 46cm (18″) tall.

Brenda also completes her patterns with easy to follow instructions and says “I design and create decorations for the home inspired by the Northamptonshire countryside!”

Mr Bramble can be sewn by hand or by machine.

Materials you will need for Mr Bramble:

.   Fat quarter of Brown Boucle Coating Fabric (or wool felt)

.  Extra strong thread to match your fabric

.  20cm (8″) square beige felt (for the ears, footpads and muzzle)

.  1 pair 7.5mm safety eyes

.   Scrap of black felt for the nose

.   Stranded embroidery thread for the mouth

.  2 x 30cm (12″) chenille pipe cleaners (for the ears)

.   2 x 15mm (5/8″) buttons to fasten the arms and legs (or you could use 15mm or 16mm safety joints)

.  Polyfibre stuffing (approx 250g )

.  5″ doll needle

 

Materials you will need for his clothes:

.  Fat 1/4m fabric – trousers

.  Fat 1/4m fabric – Shirt

.  Fat 1/4m felt – jacket (if fat quarter not available you can use 3 pieces 9″ x 12″)

.  Co-ordinating stranded embroidery silk to outline the jacket

.  2 x 1/2″ buttons for the jacket

.  2 x 1/4″ buttons for the shirt

.  scrap of fabric for the bow tie

 

Equipment you will need:

.     A sewing needle

.     Fabric scissors

.     Paper scissors

.     Tailor’s chalk, fabric pen or a pencil
