Buttons the Best Dressed Bear pattern from the Funky Friends Factory creates a handsome bear with a smart waist coat.  Buttons is an unjointed bear with a huge personality and has been designed with beginner bear makers in mind.

Buttons bear is made with a built-in shirt & trousers and has a smart felt waist coat too. This easy, non-jointed teddy bear pattern gives you 2 options: use pre-loved clothing items to create a dressed memory toy or use all new fabric with the included collar, cuffs & bow tie pattern pieces.

Buttons is the biggest Funky Friends bear yet, and he’s conveniently sized to fit an adult collared shirt – a perfect “grandpa” or “dad” bear.  You can also add names & dates to his large footpads, which include guide marks for a 4inch embroidery machine hoop. Most importantly, Buttons is an easy pattern suitable for beginners who want a bear with lots of personality and customization options.

The full size paper pattern comes with an instruction booklet. In addition to this, Funky Friends also have tutorial videos to help guide you through your bear making journey.

Materials you will need to make Buttons:-

• MAIN FABRIC – 33 x 55cm wide / 13 x 21½ inches wide
• SHIRT FABRIC – 33 x110cm wide / 13 x 43 inches wide
• TROUSERS/PANTS FABRIC – 44 x 55cm wide / 17½ x 21½ inches wide
• BOW TIE FABRIC – 10 x 29cm wide / 4 x 11½ inches wide
• FELT (WAISTCOAT) – 14 x 47cm wide / 5½x 18½ inches wide
• 18mm Black Safety eyes
• Shirt buttons (12mm/½inch size) – 5 for shirt 3 for waistcoat
• Toy Stuffing
• Sewing thread
• Iron-on light/medium weight interfacing (this is needed only if you are using thin or very stretchy fabrics or, if you are using a mix of different types of fabrics)

Equipment you will need:-

• A sewing needle & pins
• Fabric scissors with a fine tip
• Paper scissors
• Fine tipped fabric pen or a pencil
• Craft Glue & firm card for the templates (cereal boxes are fine!)
• A stuffing tool, haemostats or a chopstick!
