Twenty to Crochet – Tiny Toys to Crochet – Sachiyo Ishii
Create a mini world for your little ones (or for you!) and make 20 cute little crocheted toys, including whales, robots, koalas, squirrels, planes, dinosaurs, a nest of chicks, and many more.
These amigurumi-style patterns are no more than 10cm (4in) tall, quick and easy to make, and perfect for using up scraps of yarn. In addition, only one size of crochet hook is needed, making these tiny creations ideal for on-the-go crocheting.
Sachiyo Ishii says about the book, “It is also easy to make your own amigurumi designs. With knitting, you often do not know the finish until you sew up and stuff, but with crochet, you can see the size and shape as you progress. If you have never tried the craft before, have a go and explore. These little creatures are irresistible.”
Sachiyo suggests using polyester toy stuffing to fill your tiny creations. All of the toys were made using a 3mm (UK size 11/US size C2/D3) crochet hook and most of the animals have been crocheted with 4-ply (fingering) yarn, although some feature sections using DK (8-ply/light-worsted). Some of the toys use 4-6mm mushroom beads, and craft wire.
