Rabbit Key Ring Sewing Pattern – Sewing Sanctuary
Create a pair of sweet rabbit key rings from this Sewing Sanctuary pattern. Created by the talented Sarah Patterson, you can sew a little and a large rabbit, each with their very own dress. The pattern is accompanied by step by step instructions, complete with photos.
Each rabbit uses only a small amount of fabric and is a great way to use up little scraps of pretty fabric.
To make the bigger rabbit, you will need:
- Body: 1/4m cream fabric (pre-shrunk calico, Moda or Tilda Doll Fabric works well)
- Dress: 1/16m Cotton fabric
- Scarf: small length of lace fabric
- Decoration: 1 button or charm
- Key ring: 1 key ring
- Toy Stuffing: Small amout (125g will be more than plenty)
- Ribbon for attaching keyring: 7cm (2.5″) in length (3mm to 5mm in width) 8cm (3″)
- Eyes: black thread or 6mm safety eyes
- Nose: black thread
To make the small rabbit, you will need:
- Body: 1/8m cream fabric (pre-shrunk calico, Moda or Tilda Doll Fabric works well)
- Dress: 1/16m Cotton fabric
- Scarf: small length of lace fabric

- Key ring: 1 key ring

Equipment you will need:
- Pair of scissors (to cut pattern)
- Pair of sewing scissors (to cut fabric)
- A pencil or similar (to mark out pattern)
- Needle (or sewing machine)
- Matching thread
Stitches used (if sewing by hand) :
- Back stitch
Skills needed:
- To complete this project the maker will need to be able to use scissors, insert safety eyes (if using) and sew back stitch (or a sewing machine).
