The Patsy Pushkin pattern from the Country Folk range makes an extremely cute toy cat.  Created by the talented Brenda Walker, Patsy Pushkin stands approximately 32cm (12 1/2″) tall.  The full size pattern to make this adorable cat also comes complete with a pattern to make her a dress, apron, bloomers and a bow.  Brenda also completes her patterns with easy to follow instructions and says “I design and create decorations for the home inspired by the Northamptonshire countryside”!

Patsy Pushkin can be sewn by hand or by machine.  To make Patsy Pushkin you will need:-

Materials you will need:

.    1/4m (20″) wool felt for the body

.    Fat quarter fabric for the dress

.    Fat quarter fabric for the bloomers

.    Fat quarter fabric for the apron

.    1.5m (60″) x 12cm (0.5″) cotton lace

.    1 pair 9mm black safety eyes

.    2 x 15mm (5/8″) cream buttons to attach the arms (or 15mm cotter pin joints)

.    4 x 12mm (1/2″) buttons for the apron

.    1 x 8mm snap fastener

.    15cm (6″) length of sisal string for the whiskers

.    scrap of black felt (nose)

.    Extra Strong Black Thread

.    Cotton or polyester sewing thread to match your fabric

.    PVA Glue

.    polyfibre stuffing (250g will be plenty)

Equipment you will need:

.     A sewing needle

.     A doll needle

.     Fabric scissors

.     Paper scissors

.     Tailor’s chalk, fabric pen or a pencil

Stitches used:

.     Back stitch

.     Ladder stitch
